Fun Facts From High School

1. Did you date someone from your school? Yeah, but they were all losers. And I was dumb enough to date them because I didn't care, I just wanted a boyfriend.

2. What kind of car did you drive? 1984 Toyota Camry named Speed Racer. Sweet racing stripes. And an impressive collection of Happy Meal toys glued to the dash board. I kept Crystal's answer because we shared the car, but I'd like to add that it also had a super duper loud engine that you could hear all the way down Myrtle Street.

3. Were you a party animal? No! And I actually had to ditch my group of friends because they were all turning into little party animals. It was such an emotional time for me! (sad violins playing in the background)

4. Were you considered a flirt? I don't think so, but Crystal was! And I knew how but I only flirted when someone flirted with me first.

5. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir! Fun times in horibble black and forest green velvet dresses, with huge puffy cinderella skirts, puffy sleeves as big as my head, and sweetheart necklines. We were stylin'!

6. What was your most embarrassing moment of high school? I think the time I fell in front of my whole class (well, I fell a lot but this was the worst). I was late so everyone was already seated. So I had to walk in front of everyone because the desks were in a "U shape" and of course my desk was all the way on the other side. While I was in the middle of the "U" my ankle rolled and I fell on my hands and knees. Everyone laughed, ha ha. So I get up and go to my desk. Place my books on my desk and bam! My desk breaks and collapses to the floor! I kid you not, this really happened. Yes, it was embarrassing but I had to act cool and laugh along because pssssh, I don't care! (I really did, but what would you do?)

7. Were you a nerd? Looking back, yeah I think so. But at least I didn't know it.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Of course not. Those take talent.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? No I wasn't that bad. But once in math Brad Schramm stole my ring and I was trying to get it back and got in trouble. My teacher made me sit on the floor next to her desk until the bell rang. That was pretty humiliating.

10. Can you still sing the fight song? All I know is "Go Toppers Go. For the green and for the gold." That's all I can remember.

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Ms. Fitzgibbon. She taught art and had a voice like Kermit the Frog. Plus, who doesn't get an A in art?

12. What was your school's full name? Los Alamos High School. LAHS, for those of you in the know.

13. School mascot? The Hilltopper! I don't know, dumbest mascot ever. He was a mountain man.

14. Did you go to homecoming, and with who? Yeah, with some guy from Chimayo. He was kind of weird but he was a friend of a friend so you know. And the next year I went with Geoff Nichols, the choir teacher's son. He was also homecoming king that year. So he had to carry his crown and little wand all over the place. It was ackward.

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Honestly, no. I usually cringe when I think of high school. It was okay but I was so stupid. Always wanting to fit in and never caring at what cost.

16. What do you remember most about graduation? Having a grand old time sitting next to Neal Peterson. His twin graduated with honors so he didn't sit next to us. But had he, I would have been right in the middle because his twin's name was Brandon. A nice Peterson sandwich! Those boys were so fun.

17. Where did you go senior skip day? Um, nowhere...I do remember all of the seniors cleaning the school grounds because it got trashed on the night of the senior campout so of course we were all punished.

18. Were you in a club? No, I wish I was a little more involved with extracurricular activities. No school spirit, right here.

19. Have you gained some weight since then? Well yeah... I was super skinny in high school and now I'm just normal but I'm trying to be skinny again.

20. Who was your prom date? Junior year, creepy Kevin Talley. Senior year, druggy Geoff Kapernick.

21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? No, I'd rather not be reminded...

22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Focus a little more on academics. Make a career decision and choose an actual college major other than General Studies. Don't worry so much about boys! Family is more important than friends.

I tag Chelsea and Katy of course! Oh and it would be fun to read Julie's responses since we went to the same school.

Gail, it was fun reading your responses! I think we had a lot in common when it came to the dumb boys. I just feel lucky to have ended up with one of the guys!
Hey, can you get on my blog?

Ahh, the memories! It's fun to read about good ol' LA. Despite everyone around me wanting to leave the town, I never wanted to!

I saw your link on Julie's blog. I hope all is well with you and Diego. I was thinking back to the last time I saw you at girls camp and how you look the same (which is a good thing! You look amazing by the way - contrary to the allusion you made in your questionnaire).

Rich and I are in Colorado and loving it. I'm still teaching and Rich is in school still. Same old, same old!

Take care, I look forward to catching up with you and your little fam in the blogging world!

I can't believe that funny embarrassing story. I just finally posted stuff from my AZ trip-I'll have to post my HS antics, as soon as I recover from the pain of uploading all those pictures...

I don't have your email address or I would have sent you an invite some time ago. I am probably blind, and it is probably on your blog somewhere.

What a cool new blog layout. Where did you get it from, or how did you do it? I'm really liking it.

I think Crystal sent you my address Megan. Let me know if you didn't get it.

Thanks Jamie! It came from eblogtemplates.com.

Hi Gail! I clicked over here from Andrea's blog, so Hi!
I went on a date with Kevin once too. It was supposed to be a double date, but the other guy, Josh's, date bailed, so it was just me with the two of them. It was also Halloween, and I had dressed up. They hadn't. Talk about awkward! ;)
